Description:

On 26 November, the students of Class 8 visited Avani Textiles, a renowned cotton textile mill located in Bhindra, as part of their experiential learning programme. The visit was organised to help students understand the working of a textile industry and the journey of cotton from raw fibre to finished fabric.

A total of 140 students were accompanied by four subject teachers—Ms. Harneet, Ms. Richa, Ms. Monika Khipal, and Mr. Teerath. All students arrived in proper school uniform with their ID cards, showing great enthusiasm for the visit.

Upon reaching the mill, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff of Avani Textiles. The visit began with an introduction to the history and operations of the textile unit. Students learnt about cotton cultivation, ginning, spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing processes. They observed various machines such as carding machines, spinning frames, power looms, and quality-checking units, gaining firsthand knowledge about how cotton is converted into different types of fabrics.

The supervisors explained safety measures, environmental practices, and how modern technology helps in improving production. Students asked questions eagerly and took notes for their social science industrial chapter.

The visit proved to be highly informative and engaging. It helped students relate their classroom learning to real-life industrial processes. The teachers appreciated the discipline and curiosity shown by the students throughout the visit.Students also got refreshments.

In conclusion, the educational trip to Avani Textiles, Bhindra, was a great success, enriching the students with practical knowledge and motivating them to learn more about India’s textile industry.
